In this post I will walk you through building and configuring a Citrix NetScaler VPX appliance in the Amazon AWS Cloud. Once the device is up and running you can configure load balancing, NetScaler Gateway or a host of other services to be delivered from the Cloud to you On Premises or other cloud based applications.
This post is not going to run you through the install of Command Center but rather the configuration of the system once installed.
Some of you may have come across the issue where your End Point Analysis scans are not running when you apply the Symphony Theme or a custom theme to your NetScaler Gateway. Below if the process you will need to follow to fix this issue.
Some people just want ICA only access for their users via their NetScalers and thats great and pretty simple to do, however if you want ICA and Full VPN then you have to enable client choices to allow the user to choose the type of access they want. Again this is pretty simple to achieve however, it will also enable ClientLess access as a choice for the user. What if you don’t want this as an option.
Was upgrading the NetScalers from 10.1 to 10.5 and came across a bug that will be useful to know about.
Most people will customize the NetScaler Gateway interface to suit there customers needs. Back in the good old days this could be done using the rc.netscaler file on boot but not you have to create a tar file and ns_gui_custom folders. Quite a bit more work but will persist during reboots.
There is not many step by step guides out there on setting it all up with images and explanations so I thought I would write a guide on setting it up. Hopefully this should help some of you out there
