I this article I will show you how to add Web and SaaS resources to your Citrix NetScaler Unified Gateway. The Previous articles in this series are:

So, lets get on with Part 3.
Firstly, log into your NetScaler Management portal and select Unified Gateway from the icons shown at the bottom left of the screen.
This will display the current status of your Unified Gateway
Click on the Unified Gateway statistics on the right hand side to open up and edit the Unified Gateway settings
Scroll down until you see the Applications Section
Select the edit icon
Then click the Add icon to add a new resource
Clientless Access
In this example I will be adding a Clientless Access Web Application to pass me through to my Router at home.
Give the short cut a name, select Clientless Access as a type and enter the internal network URL that you want to provide access to. You can also upload a nice icon here if you want to!
Click Continue and OK and you will see the new short cut on your Applications portal of the gateway
Click Continue and Done then switch back to your Gateway and refresh the page. You should see your new Clientless short cut to your internal resource (In my case my rubbish Router Sky gave me!)
Click on the new shortcut to test the connectivity
As you can see I have connected to my home router via my Citrix NetScaler Unified Gateway. Note the URL
Personal Web Sites
Citrix NetScaler Unified Gateway gives you the option to add personal web site shortcuts to your portal. You can Add then using the button below the Enterprise Web Sites
Click Add and fill out the relevant information
Once filled out click on Add again to add it to your portal
Click on your new Personal Web Shortcut to launch the site
Intranet Shortcuts
Now I am going to add an Intranet Bookmark to my Enterprise Web Links on the Gateway
Switch back to your NetScaler Management portal and select Unified Gateway from the icons shown at the bottom left of the screen.
This will display the current status of your Unified Gateway
Click on the Unified Gateway statistics on the right hand side to open up and edit the Unified Gateway settings
Scroll down until you see the Applications Section
Select the edit icon
Then click the Add icon to add a new resource
Give the Intranet Application a name, select Intranet Application as the type and Enter The Intranet URL (in my case my internal Citrix Licensing server)
Click Continue and Done and you should see the new shortcut listed in your available applications
Click Continue and Done then switch back to your Unified Gateway and refresh the page. You should now see your new shortcut for Citrix Licensing
Click on the link and it will take you through to your internal page (in this case my Licensing server)
SaaS Applications
Now I am going to add a SaaS Bookmark to my Enterprise Web Links on the Gateway, I will add my ShareFile Account
Switch back to your NetScaler Management portal and select Unified Gateway from the icons shown at the bottom left of the screen.
This will display the current status of your Unified Gateway
Click on the Unified Gateway statistics on the right hand side to open up and edit the Unified Gateway settings
Scroll down until you see the Applications Section
Select the edit icon
Then click the Add icon to add a new resource
Give the Web Application a name, Select SaaS as the type, Enter the URL for your SaaS Service (ShareFile in this Case) and optionally you can add a SAML provider to log you into your service automatically
Click Continue and Done and the shortcut should be available in your Applications Config screen
Switch back to your gateway and refresh the screen. You should see your new shortcut
Click the link to launch your SaaS application

Hello Bretty! I was trying to get some more information on UG, but it seems to be hard to find on Internet. Even Citrix documentation lacks information on it 🙁
On your example, what is the difference between your Router webpage and Citrix Licensing page? On my Netscaler, I configured the same application as “Intranet Application” and “Clientless Access” to try to identify the differences, but I couldn’t find any! Do you know what are the differences between those 2?
