In my last post here I went through the procedure of installing the App-V 5 Full Infrastructure. I will now run through the steps required to prepair your servers to deploy applications.
Step 1 – Firewall Rules
You need to set up the firewall on the server to allow incoming connections for the ports you defined when setting up the management, publishing and reporting server. I tend to just disable the firewall but it is up to you how you go about this.
Step 2 – Create Application Content Share
Create a directory on your network that the App-V Server and User can access. This will be the central location for housing your .appv packages.
Step 3 – Sequence and Application
I will assume that you are aware of the process to sequence an App-V application, if not then follow my post here.
Step 4 – Publish your application
Once you have your sequenced application completed and saved on the content share you created above then follow these steps to publish the application.
You now need to publish this application and assign a connection group.
Thats it – Notepad++ is now published and can be accessed from any machine with the App-V client installed.
Hope this was useful.
Enjoy,

Hi Bretty,
It is very well written blogs. Would you please provide some step by step instruction how to configure App-V client 5.x on the PC. I am having problem to set up App-V client properly. I can publish apps with PowerShell but it does not work when I try to deploy software with App-V Publisher.
Thanks.
Hi there,
Yes – I will get round to posting something about this asap.
Thanks,
Dave
